Becoming a Founder: How Can Founder Institute Accelerate Your Success?
View the whole chat on Wakelet.

What is Founder Institute (FI)?

  • Founder Institute (@founding) – FI is the world’s premier pre-seed startup accelerator: we have chapters across 180+ cities and graduates that have built companies exceeding an estimated $20B in total value and have raised over $700M in funding.
  • Kevin Siskar (@TheSiskar) – As a graduate of FI, and now Managing Director, I have seen firsthand how helping founders set a solid foundation at the onset of their company can be massively helpful and impactful as they grow.

What makes the Founder Institute accelerator different from others?

  • Kevin Siskar (@TheSiskar) – So a few things. At FI, the focus is all in our name: we are focused on putting the Founder first. We are the only program offering exclusively evening curriculum sessions so that Founders can keep their full-time jobs until their startup is ready to go full-time.
  • Kevin Siskar (@TheSiskar) – We also have an advanced track to help founders who may already be full time and still are looking for great mentorship, a global network, and over $2 million dollars in partner benefits.

Do entrepreneurs need to have a company and team to apply?

  • Cody Semrau (@BetterMynd) – I started Founder Institute with nothing but a few startup ideas and the passion to be an entrepreneur. FI helps you build a company from the ground-up and doesn’t require you to have a team or company setup.
  • Founder Institute (@founding) – In short, no. While we are increasingly working with greater numbers of teams as well as advanced founders, you absolutely do NOT need to be incorporated or already have a co-founder in order to be accepted into the program.
  • As @founding mentioned, the answer is no. We help teach founders how to use equity and the tools at their disposal to help grow their team size to recruit amazing talent, advisors, investors, etc.
