National Grid Awards $250,000 Grant to Launch NY to Support Mentorship for 100 Upstate NY Startups

Boosting Innovation and Job Creation in Upstate NY

Launch NY has received a $250,000 grant from National Grid through its CleanTech Incubation program to mentor 100 high-growth startups in Upstate New York. This support aligns with Launch NY’s mission to create a diverse, inclusive, and thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

National Grid’s CleanTech Incubation Program

The CleanTech Incubation program provides up to $250,000 to foster job creation and growth in clean technology. This funding will fuel Launch NY’s “Empower & Launch” initiative, which matches grants 1:1 to provide two years of targeted mentorship.

Mentorship That Drives Results

Launch NY takes a mentorship-first approach, offering startups a custom Company Action Plan, individualized and group training sessions, and guidance from Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and a national mentor network. In 2023, Launch NY supported 417 startups and became the most active seed funding source in New York State by transaction volume.

A Collaborative Partnership

This grant is National Grid’s third investment in Launch NY since 2013. Together, the two organizations aim to drive economic development and job creation through Upstate New York’s growing innovation economy.
