Launch NY Seeking Director of Operations
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS – Buffalo, New York
Are you an experienced leader with an entrepreneurial spirit?
Can you coordinate with high-level leaders to execute strategies?

If so, you may be our next Director of Operations.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in business (or equivalent combo of education and work experience)
- 7+ years’ experience in operations management, including activities in:
- Accounting and budget management
- Internal communications
- Staff management
- Fund management
- HR matters (such as recruiting, hiring, and onboarding)
- CRM systems
- Grant writing
- Marketing
- 5+ years’ proficiency with accounting software, especially QuickBooks
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent technical, analytical, and communication abilities
Here’s what we prefer, but do not require:
- MBA, CPA, or other relevant advanced degree
- Experience managing processes in a grant-supported environment
- Experience managing entrepreneurship or business support programs
- Experience in a startup environment
- Experience in product launch and development
- Experience in strategic organizational planning in a relevant setting
- Passion for and experience in overcoming challenges specific to startups and nonprofits
- Comfort in creating and revising organizational structure, processes, and policies
Here’s what you’d do:
- Coordinate with President & CEO to strategize the organization’s growth
- Conduct or oversee job functions of outsourced accounting partners
- Provide board-level reporting
- Direct manager of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence processes
- Manage staff of other entrepreneurship programs
- Coordinate with Fund Manager to manage investment programs and supervise staff
- Collaborate with the team to develop new entrepreneurial services and funding sources
- Lead continuing development of CRM system
- Oversee implementation of IT services and solutions
- Manage grant, contract, donation, and sponsorship activities
- Manage staff responsible for daily office functions
- Build and maintain entrepreneurial ecosystem partnerships
- Support marketing and communications
- Interface with legal counsel
- Manage other personnel and perform other duties as needed
