Launch NY Seed Fund Finishes 2017 Strong In 2017 the Launch NY Seed Fund closed more than 16 investments, becoming the most active seed fund in Upstate NY. Over $500,000 has been invested by Launch NY in our region’s most promising startups, attracting an additional $700,000 in co- and follow-on investments. All of this has only been possible thanks to our amazing supporters, but there is more work to be done! Wheatfield Gardens is Changing the Way We Grow Our Food Wheatfield Gardens, LLC was founded to establish a controlled environment agriculture technology incubator in Western NY. Wheatfield gardens is a 12.5 acre greenhouse located in North Tonawanda, NY. Greenhouses and vertical farms are essential to providing enough fresh food for our growing population. Meet Brad Treat | |
Brad is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Southern Tier Startup Alliance and Rev: Ithaca Startup Works. He is Faculty at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, Cornell College of Engineering, and Ithaca College School of Business. Brad specializes in teaching entrepreneurship from an experiential perspective to entrepreneurial students actively starting real companies. As a consultant, advisor, and board member for several technology startups, he has established a niche around creative fund raising. Brad was most recently the Founding CEO of Mezmeriz, a high-tech company making interactive projectors and reality capture cameras. Mezmeriz is based on patented MEMS technology developed by company cofounder Shahyaan Desai at Cornell. Earlier in his career, Brad worked for eight years in the automotive industry in both the US and Spain at Bowles Fluidics and GKN Automotive. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State, and an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell. Read more about Brad and our other EIRs on our website.
